Remarks

A sanitizer can be used to ensure that a value is valid, even if the user didn't actually provide a valid value.

Example: ensure that the URI for a setting always ends in a trailing slash. The sanitizer for this case could look at the incoming URI, check for a trailing slash, and add it if not there.

The sanitizer is run whenever the setting's value is set or loaded.
